On 12th November, 1999, a plane carrying 24 people, 21 of whom were engaged in humanitarian missions in Kosovo, crashed near Pristina, leaving no survivors. Roberto Bazzoni, eldest son of Sebastiano Bazzoni, Director of Pioneer Investments, was on board. Sebastiano and many others, pledged to continue and honour Roberto’s mission with the launch of the Roberto Bazzoni Charity in 2000. The charity is involved in many humanitarian projects including the construction of a rehabilitation centre in Kosovo, financing AIDS treatment in Zimbabwe, rescuing orphans in Kazakhstan, and the building of a surgery facility in the Democratic Republic of Congo, amongst others...
